Bissell Little Green Compact Multipurpose Deep Cleaner
Bissell has completely redesigned its hand held cleaning machine and re-launched it a couple months ago as the Little Green Multipurpose Deep Cleaner.
This new little powerful cleaning tool is super cool and not just green in color.
The company has re-worked much of the machine all but eliminating PVC plastic and working to build the unit of recyclable plastic using post-consumer materials when possible.
Bissell's redesign of its hand held cleaner is a rare example of sustainable industrial design incorporated into a mass market product. The new Little Green (model 14007) is one of the few high quality mainstream, affordable consumer products to benefit from a sustainable redesign. Can you tell we're excited?
Sustainable is Good Products has been using the new Little Green now for a couple of weeks and we absolutely love it. Not only does it work well at its designed task - carpet/upholstery spot cleaning, but its a much more sustainable product.
Some of the highlights of the redesign include: a 95 percent reduction in PVC plastic usage, new tanks made of # 5 polypropylene, a brush block made from 100 percent post-consumer recycled plastic and a solution tank which also contains parts made from 100 percent post-consumer recycled plastic, elimination of PVC from the flexible plastic hose, packaging that contains zero Styrofoam and uses a minimum of 75 percent recycled corrugated and a earth-friendly cleaning solution that does not contain any heavy metals, optical brighteners, phosphates or dyes.

"Bissell shares consumers’ passion for helping the environment,” says Jim Krzeminski, Bissell's executive vice president of product development, sales and marketing. “We engineered the Little Green to help consumers make their world a little cleaner and greener and our goal is to make this product from 75 percent recyclable materials by the end of 2008.”
The company also launched a web site highlighting their sustainable design efforts.
The new Little Green Compact, Multipurpose Deep Cleaner does an excellent job at cleaning. First, setup is a breeze the unit is out of the box and ready for use in well under five minutes.
We tested the Little Green on a variety of carpets and surfaces and found it to be highly effective at removing stains - even stains that had been in place for a while.
The Little Green has a sprayer button on the end of the flexible hose attachment which controls the unit's sprayer. The unit is perfectly designed to shoot a closely controlled spray out either side of the deep cleaning suction brush attachment. A couple of passes using the deep cleaning brush attachment and every stain we tested it on was eliminated.
If you are looking for a well designed more eco-friendly hand held cleaning system - the Bissell Little Green is the answer. Its perfect for spot cleaning, spills, pet accidents etc. Home owners and apartment dwellers alike will find this cleaning tool to be a keeper.
Way to go Bissell for making a large scale redesign on such an important cleaning tool.

Excellent product! My dog was sick and had a couple accidents on our carpet that left stains for a couple days. Also have a punk cat who thinks he has to mark territory because he thinks hes better than the dog....It handled the stains with no problem, powerful little bugger. Some stuff wont come out no matter what you use, so having this on hand when an accident does happen increases the likelihood that it will come out right away. Does the job for puddle sized stains. For the price its the best out there too, added bonus that its green tech, wasn't really the key point in buying it but it makes you feel better about purchasing it over others.

We purchased a LITTLE GREEN PROHEAT, MODEL#14257 from KOHLS. Brought it home, opened the carton looking for a manual. NO MANUAL. I went ONLINE and retrieve a MANUAL. Followed directions with wATER, FORMULA, etc.
AT THIS TIME 1252 HRS. 10-15-10, I can not get the product to work properly. Specifically it won't SPRAY.
I'm going into FAQ'S to try to find a solution.
NONE of this is ACCEPTABLE from a company such as BISSELL. I will take the product back to KOHLS if no solution is found, and before I purchase a BISSELL product again much thought will go into it.

When I was living in Canada I swore by this little green machine, loved it. Its been out in the States and Canada for a few years now and only cost $60 or $70 to buy brand new, So now its hit Australian shores and cost $198 !! Will not spend that much money on it here in Australia.
