EcoSet Paper is Major Advancement in Sustainable Packaging

While I am not a big fan of disposable plastic bottles (mainly because over 80% of them never get recycled) a Wisconsin company has made a major eco-innovation related to them.

Stora Enso Specialty Papers has created EcoSet a new label paper that is fully recyclable.  This is important because many of the labels on bottled beverages are not sustainable and/or cause problems during the recycling process. 

EcoSet which is made in Wisconsin, is revolutionary in that it holds up well during the labeling process and is able to withstand the rigors of being a label for a wet product.   Many papers can't do this which is why companies turn to other types of labels.

Stora Enso says "Our local production of EcoSet reduces supply chain costs, when compared to other beverage label substrates.  In addition, EcoSet offers brand owners the sustainable packaging advantage of paper, which is derived from fiber, a renewable raw material."

EcoSet offer graphic designers a good brightness and gloss level, along with label opacity when wet, making it suitable for a wide array of beverage labels.
